Assam: Construction of community toilets to begin in Hailakandi district

Three community toilets at a cost of Rs 8 lakh each will be built at several places in Hailakandi.

Construction of community toilets under the State Own Priority Development Scheme for the year 2017-18 will begin in Hailakandi district soon.
Project Director,  DRDA, NKSK Sinha asked the concerned block development officers to start the construction work of the community toilets in consultation with the Public Health Engineering department and other stakeholders within January 1 next year.
Three community toilets at a cost of Rs 8 lakh each will be built at Ratanpur, Algapur and Gharmurah-Baghcherra Gaon Panchayats under Hailakandi,  Algapur and South Hailakandi development blocks.
Meanwhile, district and block level committees have been constituted headed by Project Director,  DRDA as chairperson. “The committees at the district and block levels will supervise the execution of work as well as look after their maintenance, ” said Sinha.
