Assam: Kaziranga University to host the 5th Convocation on Jan 13

Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of Assam will grace the occasion as Chief Guest.

One of North East India’s premier Universities, The Assam’s Kaziranga University is set to conduct its 5th Annual Convocation Ceremony on 13th January 2019, at the University campus in Koraikhowa, Jorhat.

Sarbananda Sonowal, Chief Minister of the State of Assam will grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Six time Amateur World Boxing Champion Padma Bhushan M.C Mary Kom, who was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree by Kaziranga University in 2018, will be present as the Guest of Honour, along with the illustrious Ashok Mittal, Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar.

The inaugural address at the Ceremony will be delivered by Dr. M. D. Khetan, Chancellor of the University.

On this day, 405 young men and women from across the five Schools of the University will be awarded their degrees. The University will also confer Honorary Doctorate Degrees upon two exemplary individuals, noted for tremendous contribution in their respective fields – Padma  Jadav Payeng, Assam’s very own ‘Forest Man’ and former World and Olympic Champion Padma Bhushan Abhinav Bindra.

The 5th Convocation Ceremony is a testimony to the pride of Kaziranga University in sending out into the world accomplished and skilled young professionals.

Kaziranga University has indeed created a benchmark of excellence in providing an industry-aligned curriculum to the students of North East. With a goal of improving society through education and skill development, the University aims to produce young men and women of character and strong values, who will become future leaders and make a positive impact on the society.
