Assam: MoU signed between AMSL and KU

Kaziranga University has signed a MoU with Apollo Medskills Ltd. (AMSL) to develop and promote health education

Keeping up with its commitment to promote industry-aligned, new-age education in the North-East, Kaziranga University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Apollo Medskills Ltd. (AMSL) to develop and promote health education and training programmes for the students of the region.

This MoU was undertaken and signed in the Kaziranga University campus on 13th December 2018, by Dr. Srinivas Rao, CEO, Apollo Medskills Ltd. and Dr. P.K Mishra, Vice Chancellor, Kaziranga University, in the auspicious presence of distinguished dignitaries Ms. Rainy Khetan, Director, Kaziranga University, and Prof. Tarun Kumar, Registrar, Kaziranga University among several others.

The objectives and scope of the MoU was highlighted and discussed at the signing, which included the facilitating of two-year Management Programmes, Undergraduate programmes, Certificate programmes, nursing-related and other career progression programmes in the field of health, wellbeing and heath management education between the two esteemed organisations.

Along with the development and delivery of joint academic programmes, the collaboration also explores the expansion of infrastructure for skill development, in which both parties aim to work towards the setting up of centralised hub of domain laboratories, as well as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for achieving educational and training objectives.

Dr. Mishra, in his congratulatory speech, mentioned that this collaboration comes at a very important time where the need of the hour is the expansion of professional health care sector not only in the North East, but also throughout the country. With the shortage of skilled health professionals and technical centres in the region, academic and training collaborations such as these can play a vital role.

Associating with renowned organisations AMSL is in line with Kaziranga University’s commitment to bringing exposure, knowledge and job-oriented skill training into the North-East, and helping boost the region’s institutional and technological growth and development.

Kaziranga University takes great pride in introducing new-age, industry aligned courses and skill-training programmes in the region, especially in burgeoning fields such as health sciences and allied sectors. With the increased focus on the economic and social growth of the North-Eastern states, KU aims to fulfil the common vision of the nation, in bridging the employ-ability gap of the young people and to make inclusive the state’s and country’s economic growth.
