Coronavirus in Guwahati: Spanish Garden declared as containment zone

No one will be allowed to enter the apartment and to come outside from Spanish Garden for the next 14 days,

Spanish Garden, a residential society of Guwahati declared as containment zone after detection of Coronavirus ( covid-19 ) case from the garden on Friday night.

Spanish Garden, a residential society of Guwahati declared as  containment zone. No one will be allowed to enter the apartment and to come outside from Spanish Garden for the next 14 days, said Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Only medical emergency service allowed for Spanish Garden.

Dr. Sarma was addressing a press meet to brief the current situation in the state in the wake of Coronavirus outbreak,  informed that ” The First Covid-19 Guwahati patient’s name is Manish Tibrawala who stays at Spanish Garden in Zoo Road area,  after that health authorities has decided to declare the Spanish Garden as containment zone.

Manish is currently admitted at the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) and his condition is stable. It is to be mentioned that the Guwahati patient has no link to Nizamuddin Markaz.  The remaining family members who are on home quarantine at Spanish Garden will go through screening and if found positive will be shifted for treatment.

Meanwhile, two more coronavirus cases have been reported in Assam, bringing the state total to 25 — most of them reported in a 72-hour period.

The fresh cases, reported in Golaghat and North Lakhimpur districts, are linked to a religious congregation held last month at the Tablighi Jamaat group’s markaz in Delhi’s Nizamuddin, according to the Assam government.
