Assam: 17th Dr. Amitabh Chowdhury Annual memorial lecture to be held on Saturday
GUWAHATI: The Dr. Amitabh Chowdhury Memorial Trust is organising the 17th Dr. Amitabh Chowdhury Annual memorial lecture on saturday i.e. on 19th of December, 2020. This year’s Lecture will be delivered by the renowned political thinker, Mr. Pratap Bhanu Mehta, on “India’s Second Republic:
The Collapse of Liberal Constitutionalism”. Mr. Mehta was formerly the Vice Chancellor of Ashoka University and is presently the Contributing Editor for the Indian Express newspaper, in which he frequently authors columns.
The Lecture will be telecasted on Prag News Channel from 3-4 PM on 19th December, 2020. Given the COVID-19 pandemic and its related strictures, the Dr. Amitabh Chowdhury Memorial Trust decided to avoid public gathering at the Lecture this year. As such, the viewership of the lecture was only confined to a television telecast, unlike the previous years.
The Dr. Amitabh Chowdhury Memorial Trust anticipates wide viewership of this Lecture, as it pertains to a contemporary relevant political and legal issue in India.
