Assam: Army conducts Mock drill on Earthquake in Dispur

Army displayed it’s rescue skills in a mock drill on earth quake  organised by of the State Level Disaster Management Exercise at Dispur.

The soldiers of the Indian Army’s Gajraj Corps and Red horns Division took part in the ongoing Mock Drills of the State Level Disaster Management Exercise conducted by National and State Disaster Management authorities at Dispur.

The focus of the exercise was centred on Earthquakes, as majority of areas in Assam are vulnerable to earthquakes and claim a large number of lives and cause lots of damage to property.

The singular aim of the exercise was to bring together all the stakeholders responsible for Disaster Management in the state and ensure seamless coordination during the conduct of relief operations.

During the mock drills Prof Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam praised the Indian Army’s Disaster Relief column of Chindit Battalion, which displayed its flawless professionalism, adaptability and its preparedness to carry out Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief Operations in turn contributing to nation building.

The immaculate drills and readiness of the Indian Army’s troops during the conduct of the exercise was appreciated by everyone present in the exercise. Army across the nation is prepared and geared up for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Operations.

Amalgamation of such drills and procedures at highest level will go a long way to foster bond of jointmanship of Army and other Civil Administrative agencies.
