Assam: Army sponsored Coaching Classes for 278 students in Rupai

GUWAHATI- Red Shield Division of Spear Corps organised four months-long Free Coaching Classes for students from IX to XII standard of Upper Assam, at Doomdooma College from Nov 2020 to 25 Feb 2021.
Rupai Battalion conducted the coaching classes under Operation Sadhbhavna with an aim to mitigate academic loss of the children from remote areas due to COVID-19 pandemic inflicted lockdown, closure of schools and lack of online classes facility in the region.
278 students from Doomdooma and Bordumsha areas benefitted from the classes. School teachers also played an important role in conducting classes for subjects like Maths, Science, Arts & Commerce and preparing the students for their final examinations.
Series of mock exams and counselling/career guidance sessions were also organised, during which students were informed about various career options available to them and methods of preparation for various competitive exams.
Senior officers and soldiers of Indian Army, Principal and faculty of Doomdooma College and Principals of nearby Schools attended the Closing Ceremony on 26 Feb 2021 at Govt College, Doomdooma. The gathering also witnessed traditional cultural programme performed by the students with utmost enthusiasm.
