My name is Hyder Ali and I am 24 years old. I have four members in my family, father, mother and two younger sisters. I live in village Kyakuchi Pathar which comes under Sarthebari circle of Barpeta  district Assam.

In recent heavy rains of last two weeks my whole village was flooded and was cut off from district center due to road submergence. My family was stranded in our house with my two cows and three hens. We were surviving on meager amount of ration that our family was able to save from the water.

Not just my family but other families of the village were also in similar situation in dire need of rescue efforts. District administration did set up a relief camp in nearest high land area but we were not able to reach there due to non-availability of boats.

The Civil doctor which Army Rescue team brought with them also gave first aid to the injured villagers. Army rescue team also provided us with medical supplies, water purification kits and ration.

On 21 July when road opened due to receding flood waters, I took my ailing parents and cattle to Medical and Veterinary camp organized by Army Camp Gankuchhi , Barpeta.

We are thankful for all the help provided to us by the Army Camp Ganakucchi.
