Assam: Hailakandi district ranked 4th in health & nutrition among aspirational districts 

In the latest Delta rankings released by NITI Aayog for the month of April-May 2019, Hailakandi district has been placed in the 4th position under health and nutrition parameter.

Hailakandi district has bagged the overall 4th position in the health and nutrition sector among all the aspirational districts of the country.

In the latest Delta rankings released by NITI Aayog for the month of April-May 2019, Hailakandi district has been placed in the 4th position under health and nutrition parameter. Ribhoi district of Meghalaya tops the list followed by Dhaulpur, Rajasthan and Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh.

Assistant Commissioner, Parikshit Phukan said there has been incremental progress over last Delta rankings as a result of which Hailakandi district has jumped to overall 4th position among the 115 aspirational districts of India under the Transformation of Aspirational Districts Programme.

Buoyed by the success, health authorities here said the improvement under health and nutrition has been due to good success in institutional delivery, ante natal care check ups and supplementary nutrition to pregnant women under ICDS programme.

Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli, who has been working relentlessly for improvement in all the 49 key indicators under health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development and basic infrastructure sectors, congratulated the district administration officials and health officials and functionaries for the wonderful feat achieved. She also asked them to keep up the tempo and achieve greater heights of success in the days ahead.

It may be mentioned that another aspirational district of Assam, Baksa has been ranked 3rd position under basic infrastructure sector.
