Assam: Rajesh Narzary, of 9th APBn has succumbed to COVID-19

Guwahati- The Assam Police informed that one Rajesh Narzary, of 9th APBn has succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday. Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, DGP, Assam said that all necessary help and assistance will be extended to the family of the deceased.

ADGP (Law & Order) GP Singh in a tweet, Rajesh Narzary of 9th APBn who was admitted to GMCH on July 4 died of the infection at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Monday.

Narzary has become the second personnel of the Assam Police to have died of COVID-19 related reasons. On July 10, IRBn Havildar Hareswar Nath, a 53-year-old non-symptomatic patient with no comorbidities, had succumbed to death due to the COVID-19 at the IITG COVID care centre in Guwahati.
With an upsurge in the COVID-19 positive cases in Assam, the frontliners have been at high risk of getting infected. so far 912 personnel of Assam Police have tested positive till 20 July, out of whom 531 have recovered. 884 Cops are under quarantine while 64 have rejoined duty.
