Assam: Skill development program inaugurated in Hailakandi

A skill development programme under the Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli Tuesday.

Inaugurating the new training course, DC, Jalli said it would give an opportunity to the unemployed women trainees from different backgrounds to learn the ropes of data entry operator and would pave the way for their empowerment in society.

Jalli interacted with the trainees and highlighted the benefits of the course and encouraged them to take the course seriously.

District Project Manager, ASDM, Pinak Choudhury said batches of 60 female unemployed youth will be given training on domestic data entry operator free of cost. “The new skill development initiative under ASDM is a milestone for women empowerment in aspirational district Hailakandi and would lead to overall development of women in society, ” said Choudhury.

Choudhury also assured that placements would be provided to all trainees on the completion of their 440 hours of training. He further said that this initiative will bridge the gap between skilled manpower requirement and availability of skilled manpower.

The nearly four-month training in data entry operator course to the trainees is basically industry driven course with focus on employment and to create aspirational value for skill development training.

Training will be imparted by training partner Valeur Fabtex Institute of Information Technology.

Representatives of training provider and trainees were present on the occasion.
