Assam students stranded at Kota start their journey home

Buses started the journey today's morning and are likely to reach Assam after 38 hours.


Over 350 students from Assam who are stranded in Kota amid the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown being brought back by road to Guwahati from Kota via Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Officials who have been sent has organise the operation and police team is escorting the students.

AC sleeper coach buses have been arranged for the students to return Assam. The buses started the journey at  today’s morning and are likely to reach Assam after 38 hours. All the necessary arrangements including fooding during the journey have been done. Social distancing norms will be followed during the journey.

The Assam government had sent a team of officials and police personnel for facilitating the evacuation of its students stranded in Kota following requests from families in the state and the government of Rajasthan.

To fast track the process, the team of officials and police personnel who would escort the students back were sent to Jaipur on a chartered aircraft, a Learjet 45 double engine yesterday.

  1. Sir/Maam,If government can bring students from kota .Why can’t from other states. My brother is in Bengluru,Karnataka and My wife is in Ballia,Uttar Pradesh . How can i bring them to my home Dhemaji,Assam. Will be grateful to government if they can the other people and me.
