Assam: Tree Plantation Drive at Army Public School at Narangi

 The students of this premier school planted more than 500 saplings over a period of three days from 25th Aug to 27th Aug 2019.

At a time where there are serious concerns about environmental changes in the world, Army Public School, Narangi undertook a tree plantation drive in Narangi Military Station, Guwahati.

The students of this premier school planted more than 500 saplings over a period of three days from 25th Aug to 27th Aug 2019.

The event culminated on 27th Aug with saplings being planted by Maj Gen Jarken Gamlin, General Officer Commanding 51 Sub Area and Mrs Kenter Gamlin, Chairperson FWO Offg Principal Mrs Mrinalini Choudhury, Teachers, Staff and Students of Army Public School.

While addressing the students, the General Officer lauded the efforts of the school authorities and especially the children for this Nobel gesture of “Afforestion” drive.  He emphasized the need for us to be more careful of environmental concerns in the days ahead.

He asked the students to spread awareness about clean environment so that the future generation could live a healthy life.  He cited the example of Narangi Military Station which is sparkling with lush green environment.

He urged the children to shun the use of plastics and desist from littering the surroundings.

The even was a huge success and will provide the impetus for other schools of Guwahati to follow.
