Assam: Udalguri XI Shines in Pune

Udalguri Team won the match 1-0. The team was delighted in playing at this venue and was impressed with the infrastructure there.

As part of Sadbhavana Project,  a National Integration Tour comprising of budding footballers from Udalguri was sent to Pune to play with football clubs of Pune which was organised jointly by Gajraj Corps and Aseem Foundation of Pune.

Udalguri team, otherwise known as ‘Eden FC’ in Assam, was selected after they won the Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Gold Cup Football Tournament conducted in September 2019.

Chief Guest Brig M.J.Kumar of Bengal Engineer Group ( BEG)   and Mr. Sarang Gosavi, President of Aseem Foundation thanked all stakeholders and noted that the initiative of this tour and exhibition match is laudable, and that the visiting team must go back to Assam with the message of friendship and love. “ We should plan more such exposure tours to give the border area youth more opportunities towards development and growth”  he said.

He praised the players for showcasing a thrilling encounter and wished them all the best for their future.

The visiting team underwent various training sessions, participated in interactions with local football clubs and play a few practice matches. They demonstrated excellent performance against an equally strong Krida Prabodhini team, in a practise match played at Shiv Chhatrapati Stadium in Balewadi, an international football venue.

The team was delighted in playing at this venue and was impressed with the infrastructure there.  Apart from the on-field football exchangesthe team also  visited  ‘Symbiosis institute of Sports Sciences’, where the players attended a seminar on ‘Careers in Sports’ and met the staff and students. They also   visited Adlabs Imagica  Aqua-park and had fun taking numerous water rides.
