Guwahati- Ten more patients died due to COVID-19 infections in Assam on Wednesday, taking the state’s death toll to 213, while 2,116 new positive cases detected on the day.
Sharing the news of the death of 10 more patients, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on wednesday said: “Very sad anguished to inform that ten more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease.” health minister also shared all the names of COVID19 victims.

On Wednesday, Assam has registered 2116 new positive cases for COVID19 out of 40,389 tests, taking the state’s overall tally 84317.
The health minister informed that Assam’s positivity rate stands at 5.23%.
Of the positive cases, Kamrup Metro has reported 311, Cachar- 190, Dibrugarh-174, and Jorhat-125, new positive cases have been detected, Sarma said.
With the new cases, Assam currently has 25,807 COVID19 active patients.
A total of 58,294 patients have been discharged from various hospitals or Covid care Centres across Assam after their recovery.
