Kaziranga University: ‘Talent Tantra 2018′ concludes

The 7th of January saw the conclusion of one of the most-awaited celebrations in the region -Kaziranga University’s annual winter fest, ‘Talent Tantra 2018’. Not only did it showcase the skills and talents of the youth of the North-East through various competitions and events, the fest also featured an incredible artist line-up on all the three days of the event, bringing in some of the most renowned faces of the Indian entertainment industry to this region.

The artists this year included popular fusion rock band ‘Lagori’, Sunburn Campus DJs Rave&Crave, Teri Miko and Shaan, and India’s musical sensation Amit Trivedi, who enthralled the audience along with his troupe of talented singers Divya Kumar, Yashita Sharma, Meghna Mishra and Arun Kamath on the 5th, 6th and 7th of January respectively.

The artists, who graced the occasion with their presence, definitely added much grandeur and pomp to the celebrations. The event was also graced by the presence of the Assistant High Commissioner and Head of Mission, Bangladesh Kazi Muntashir Murshed and several other distinguished guests. Honourable Commissioner Kazi Murshed addressed the gathering and expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards Kaziranga University, while emphasizing on his hope for a bright and fruitful future between the two nations, Bangladesh and India.

Talent Tantra 2018 included a plethora of diverse events and shows, which involved many distinguished faces from around the North-East. Rangmanch, the skit competition was judged by noted members of the Assamese Film Fraternity which included noted film directors Prerana Barbarooah and Rajesh Bhuyan.

Winter Runway, the fashion and beauty event, was mentored by Pranjit Chetia, one of the most popular figures from the fashion industry. This event also involved notable stalwarts from the industry such as fashion photographer Ashwini Borkotoky, Deepak Jain, Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology Dibrugarh, Saumar J. Sharma, Director, Indian Weavers Alliance Inc. and Rupaleem Goswami, Mrs. India Homemaker International. The winners of the event received several coveted prizes and opportunities, which included portfolio shoots, direct entry into renowned pageants such as Miss Luit and a chance to walk the ramp at the JD Institute of Fashion Technology’s Annual Show and also the East India Fashion Week.

Apart from these, Talent Tantra 2018 also focused on learning and academia, with events such as Technova, the technological fiesta, which included competitions in coding, circuit building, robotics and much more. Matter Mind was another popular event, which saw the best minds of entrepreneurship and business come together and compete in events such as business plan competition, ad-making and business quiz. Not to be left out, there were several competitions and events in the music, art and literary fields, at Talent Tantra, giving students from all across the North-East a chance to showcase their skills and talents in any field of their choice.

The Pro-Chancellor of Kaziranga University Shri Basant Khetan, not only thanked the students who put their heart and soul into organizing the event, but also commended the all the participants, guests, media, sponsors as well as the entire KU family for their enthusiasm and support. Organized by the student body of Kaziranga University, under the able guidance of the young and dynamic Director, Ms. Rainy Khetan, Talent Tantra 2018 was indeed a grand success, leaving everyone wishing for more.

With an aim of empowering students and encouraging them to take initiative, Talent Tantra 2018 has helped hone their skills and enabled them for brighter futures.
