Manipur: Assam Rifles organised Child Care Camp at Phoklong Khullen village in Tamenglong

IMPHAL- There are mounting evidence that health during childhood sets the stage for adult health. It reinforces the perspective that its ethical, social & economic imperative to ensure that all children are as healthy as they can be. The physically & mentally ill children tend to be more subversive. It affects the overall growth of the child.
Taking this social responsibility 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles started two days Child Care Camp at Phoklong Khullen village of Tousem sub division, in Tamenglong dist of Manipur. In absence of any medical services available in these far flung areas the children are facing many health issues. Child Health is a state of physical, mental, intellectual, social and emotional well-being and not merely the absence of disease.
Taking a cue from this very fact the battalion medical team and Company Commander from Azuiram reached out to the children of the area. Apart from medical checkup, physical activity session like yoga & Tabata sessions were organized for two days on 08-09 January. Further promoting physical fitness the village authority were extended various sports equipment.
The battalion in its reachout programmes for child care is stressing upon five basic needs of a child i.e life, care, discipline, purpose and happiness. The Company Commander also interacted with students for opportunities & career options available to them. The students asked various doubts about joining security forces. The enthusiastic volunteers of the village helped the Assam Rifles in organising this two days wellness camp for children amid all COVID restrictions.
