Mizoram: More Than 30 Projects Completed Under Smart City Mission- Dy CM
The minister also mentioned that several projects were delayed due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns.
AIZAWL: The deputy chief minister of Mizoram has announced the execution of more than 30 projects in the state under the Smart City Mission and many more are in different stages of execution.
Tawnluia, the deputy chief minister of Mizoram also has the portfolios of Public Health Engineer and Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation (UD&PA) departments. He is also the founder of the Mizo National Front which is in power in the state.

He laid the foundation stone for a multipurpose ground in the Zarkaw locality of the capital city on Tuesday. He mentioned that multiple projects under the Smart City Mission have been completed till date.
The minister also mentioned that several projects were delayed due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns. “Despite such hurdles, over 30 projects are being implemented under the smart city mission and three of them have been completed,” the deputy chief minister mentioned.
He also added that ten more projects are currently being developed in the state. One of them is the Laldenga Cultural Center, which is a major project to be undertaken at the Assam Rifles ground area of the capital city.

The minister also announced that the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, will be visiting the state to lay the foundation stones for this proposed cultural centre in the city.
The chief minister of the state, Zoramthanga had mentioned that Amit Shah had agreed to visit Aizawl to inaugurate the Assam Rifles complex on April 1. The foundations of the cultural project will also be laid during the same event.
