Mizoram reports highest ever single-day spike of 1369 COVID-19 cases

AIZAWL- Mizoram on Monday reported the highest ever single-day spike in COVID-19 cases as 1369 tested positive pushing the State’s tally to 33,452, while the active cases tally of the state is currently standing at 9743, a Health Department official said.
Of the 1369 fresh Covid cases, 1355 were detected through Rapid Antigen Test and 14 through TrueNat tests.
The capital city Aizawl accounts for the highest number of active cases – 7006, followed by Lunglei – 914 and Kolasib – 667.
With one more COVID-19 related death on Monday Mizoram’s total death toll now stands at 137.
Meanwhile, State Health Minister Dr R Lalthangliana on Sunday said that the State Government is making massive efforts to expedite the mass testing drive for Covid-19 in Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) area during the total lockdown, which has been extended till July 31.
