Sikkim: State govt issues advisory to check Covid-19 cases

GANGTOK- The Sikkim government on Tuesday issued an advisory asking people to follow precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic again in the state.
In a notification issued by the Home Department, Sikkim Chief Secretary V B Pathak advised residents of the Himalayan state to follow social distancing norms and wear face masks while visiting public places”.

People have also been advised to regularly wash hands with soap and water or use sanitizers, avoid going to crowded places and social gatherings.
Residents of Sikkim have been asked to avoid international travel in view of rising cases of coronavirus in various countries including China.
If there are symptoms like fever, sore throat, cough, people have been advised to immediately consult a doctor and get tested for COVID-19.
The Sikkim government has advised everyone to take a dose of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine and asked them to follow the advisories issued by the government from time to time.

The Chief Secretary said that the advisory has been issued in view of the increasing cases of corona virus in various countries and the festive season and New Year celebrations.
At present there is one under-treatment patient of Corona virus in Sikkim.
