Assam: NCC R-Day camp launch ceremony held at Narangi
This event marked the curtain drawing, for the selection camp before cadets proceed to Delhi on 29th Dec 2019.

The NCC Cadets of NER Directorate are undergoing Training camp at Narangi Military Station since 09 Dec 2019, for selecting the cadets for the Republic Day event at New Delhi. The aim of these camp is to train cadets on various activities which form part of the Republic Day camp being scheduled in January 2020.
Initially 272 Cadets were shortlisted for Pre- Republic Day Camps who were selected out of approx 90,000 cadets based on their abilities at various strenuous levels of selection right from the unit, Group level and finally in the Inter Group competition held at Shillong in November 2019.
Finally only 116 Cadets have been selected who will form part of the North East Region contingent for RDC – 2020.
The major activities at the Republic Day Camp in Delhi comprise of Guard of Honour, Rajpath Drill, and PM Rally Drill, firing, “Flag Area” presentation and cultural extravaganza.
As part of the contingent launch ceremony the ADG NCC NER Directorate , Maj Gen Bipin Bakshi, VSM presided over the event on 24th December 2019 in presence of other distinguished guests.

The ADG witnessed the performance in Drill by the selected cadets and in later part of the day saw the captivating performance during the Cultural show.
Maj Gen Bipin Bakshi, VSM complimented the efforts of the training and instructional team headed by Brig DB Pany as the Chief Training Officer who sharpened the skills of the selected cadets and prepared them for the stiff competition at Delhi.
Expressing his utter satisfaction with the Cadets performance, he wished the NER contingent all the very best and urged the cadets to put up a splendid show.
He also thanked GOC HQ 51 Sub Area and his staff for all the support extended to NCC Dte NER for holding and conducting the Pre- RDC Camp.
In the end the ADG paid his gratitude to various State Governments of North East for their involvement and support provided to NCC in the region.
