According to Ali, his wife had repeatedly eloped with her lover, prompting him to seek legal separation. “She kept eloping with her lover. I stayed silent for the sake of our family’s peace,” Ali said in the viral video, standing on a plastic sheet as he poured bucket after bucket of milk over himself. “My advocate informed me yesterday that the divorce was finalized. Today, I am bathing in milk to celebrate my freedom.”

This is not the first instance of an unconventional divorce celebration in India. Last year, a man in Haryana threw a lavish party to mark his separation, a trend that some believe may become more common as societal views on divorce shift. Ali’s milk bath, however, stands out for its dramatic flair, with many online calling it a “genuine” expression of relief and a fresh start.

Local authorities have not commented on the incident, as it involves no legal violations. The viral video continues to circulate, with netizens debating whether Ali’s act is a quirky celebration of freedom or an extravagant misuse of resources. Regardless, Manik Ali’s milk bath has cemented his place in the spotlight, turning a personal milestone into a viral sensation.
