Assam: Ayushman Bharat Diwas celebrated in Hailakandi

Ayushman Bharat Diwas was celebrated as part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan across Hailakandi district of Assam on Monday .
Gram Sabha meetings were held in all the 62 Gaon Panchayats to generate awareness about the programme. Enrollment under National Health Protection Mission (NHPM) are based on data for socio-economic caste census (SECC).
An annual health cover of Rs.5 lakh will be provided under NHPM – there is no cap on family size. Families will be eligible for the scheme based on deprivation and occupational criteria as per SECC data.
“The purpose of Ayushman Bharat Diwas is to generate awareness about the programme, beneficiary verification, and generation of additional data,” said a health official.
Under Ayushman Bharat, health and wellness centers will now provide more wider brand of services, including non-communicable diseases. There will be more focus on prevention and health promotion.
