Five people of a wedding party were killed and many others were critically injured in a road accident near Dhubri town of Assam on Saturday.

Five people were killed and many others were critically injured after a bus carrying a wedding party met with an accident on National Highway 31 in Assam’s Dhubri district on Saturday.
The deadly road accident took place at Gauripur in Dhubri district. Twenty five people were travelling in the vehicle.
According to reports, the bus carrying a wedding party in the wee hours of Saturday morning lost its control and rammed against a stationary truck.
The deceased have been identified as Shambhu Rawat, Kanchan Rawat, Utpal Rai and Subhash Adhikari. However, the identity of the fifth person, who is believed to be the handyman of the vehicle, is yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the injured are getting treatment at Dhubri civil hospital while those with serious injuries have been shifted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for better treatment.
