Assam: Indian Army Conducts VET AID Camp in Darrang
A team comprising of army personnel, well qualified veterinary doctors from the district veterinary department and a pharmacist provided treatment to about 750 animals during the camp.

A Veterinary Aid Camp was organised by Indian Army at Sialmari Gaon of Darrang district on 23rd Oct 2019. The event was also attended by the people from nearby villages such as Jakuapara, Kasomari and Sonaribasti of Darrang district (Assam), and surrounding village to get their domesticated animals including cows, buffaloes, sheeps, goats and hen treated free of cost.
It was a part of Army’s continued endeavours towards providing basic veterinary facilities to the people living in remote areas under Op Sadbhavana initiative.
A team comprising of army personnel, well qualified veterinary doctors from the district veterinary department and a pharmacist provided treatment to about 750 animals during the camp.
Veterinary medicines were also distributed as a part of veterinary health awareness initiative. The camp catered for all types of veterinary ailments faced by local livestock & domestic animals and helped to augment the veterinary doctors serving in the area.
The veterinary camp was organised as a humanitarian initiative by Indian Army. On conclusion of the camp, local populace appreciated the efforts of the army by expressing their gratitude and desire for more frequent veterinary camps in the future.
