Assam: Two-child policy against Islam- AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal

The Assam  State Cabinet on October 21 last adopted the state population policy which will come into effect from January 1, 2021.

All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) president Badruddin Ajmal’s  stated that ” State’s two-child norm is a political stunt which was against Islam’s structure on family planning” said a report.

“The government has brought this law to stop Muslims from having jobs, but the Sachar Committee report says less than 2% Muslims get government jobs.

according to the news paper’s report  “Muslims will continue to produce children and will not listen to anyone,” said Mr. Ajmal.  “No one can stop those who want to come to this world. Islam believes in not tampering with nature,” he said on Saturday.

Union minority affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday said that ” the issue is being politicised as the Assam government move is not meant for any specific religion or community.

Reacting on Ajmal’s statement  Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Monday said the ” Assam government’s two child policy was not against any “particular community” as it was being made out by certain people. “The decision taken by the Assam government should be taken positively. The rule is not against any particular community,” Tiwari said.

Reacting to AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal’s opposition to the new policy, Tiwari said the former was trying to stall a “good thing”.

The Assam  State Cabinet on October 21 last adopted the state population policy which will come into effect from January 1, 2021. Under the policy anyone having more than two children will not be eligible for government jobs nor will they be able to contest elections.
