Manipur: Arms, Grenades Recovered in Imphal West Operation
Security forces recovered firearms, hand grenades, ammunition and a wireless handset during a search operation along Ngairangbam Tanoukhul Road under Patsoi Police Station in Imphal West.
IMPHAL- Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation conducted along Ngairangbam Tanoukhul Road towards Longa Koireng under the jurisdiction of Patsoi Police Station in Manipur’s Imphal West district, officials said.
According to sources, the recovered items included one double-barrel gun, a country-made pistol with a magazine, and 181 rounds of ammunition of different calibres. Security personnel also seized three additional magazines, two No.36 hand grenades, a detonator, and a Baofeng wireless handset along with its charger.

Authorities stated that the operation was part of ongoing security measures aimed at preventing unlawful activities and ensuring public safety in sensitive areas of the state. The seized materials have been taken into custody for further investigation, and officials are working to determine their origin and intended use.
Security forces continue to conduct coordinated search operations across vulnerable locations in Manipur to curb the movement of illegal weapons and maintain law and order amid the prevailing security situation.
