Manipur: Bomb Blast outside BJP Minister’s residence, CRPF Jawan injured
A CRPF personnel received minor injuries in his right hand due to the impact of the blast.
IMPHAL- A bomb blast rocked the gate of Manipur Minister Y Khemchand’s residence at Yumnam Leikai here on Saturday night, police said. A CRPF personnel received minor injuries in his right hand due to the impact of the blast.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh reached the spot to enquire about the blast. Police said the bomb was lobbed by unknown persons who came in a two wheeler.

The injured has been identified as one sub-inspector, Dinesh Chandra Das, 57, son of late Siddeswar Das of F-30 CRPF battalion.
It is reported that two miscreants in a white and orange coloured motorcycle suspected to be KTM bike were seen riding along the Yumnam Leikai road. Eyewitnesses reported that both the miscreants covered their faces with clothes and wore helmets, reported Imphal free press.
They hurled a bomb suspected to be a hand grenade towards the main gate of the minister. However, the bomb hit an electric post located around 15 metres away from the main gate and it exploded.

Meanwhile, after the blast, a team of Imphal Police Station and Singjamei police station rushed to the spot. IG Themthing Ngasangva also reached the spot.
Later, Chief Minister N Biren Singh came to the blast site. Speaking to the media, he termed the incident as an uncivilised act and expressed strong condemnations against the blast.
Minister Y Khemchand said he does not have any enmity with anyone, and expressed his confusion about the attack.
