IMPHAL- The house of the main accused Huirem Herodas, who paraded the two women naked in Manipur on May 4, was burnt down by miscreants on Thursday.

In the purported video, two women were seen being made to walk naked down a road by a mob of men. Some of the men were also seen dragging the two women towards a field and forcibly groping them.
Taking suo moto cognisance of the video, the Manipur Police had on Wednesday night registered a case of abduction, gangrape and murder at Nongpok Sekmai police station in Thoubal district against unidentified men.
According to officials, four people have been arrested so far in the case.

On Thursday, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh said a thorough investigation is underway into the incident and said strict action, including possible capital punishment, will follow.
According to the official statement issued by Manipur Police on Wednesday, the state police and Central forces have concluded search operations in several vulnerable and fringe areas including the valley and hill districts.
