Meghalaya: 27th senior national WUSHU championship concludes
27th senior national WUSHU championship concluded at Assam Regimental Centre in Shillong.

The 27th Senior National Wushu (Men & Women) Championship 2018 was conducted from 10 to 14 October 2018 on behalf of 101 Area at Assam Regimental Centre. A total of 38 teams from States/ Union Territories/ Military/ Para Military participated with more than 900 players.
Lieutenant General DS Ahuja, AVSM, GOC, 101 Area welcomed Tathagata Roy, Governor of Meghalaya as the Chief Guest along with other civil, Military Dignitaries and players.
The governor in his address to the participants said that our country has made commendable strides in various fields of sports and games & emphasised on the importance of these games for women empowerment and how society needs to respect women in order to achieve true development.
He also made a special mention of the Army and Services Wushu Node of the Assam Regimental Centre which has been producing world class athletes ever since.
The overall championship trophy was won by Services Sports Control Board(SSCB) and the same was received by GOC 101 Area from the Governor of Meghalaya.
