Nagaland: No ethnic blood should be shed in the Naga areas of Manipur- NSCN ( IM )

Stated NSCN (IM) in a statement issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity.

KOHIMA-  The NSCN-IM has said that no ethnic blood should be shed in the Naga areas of Manipur in the name of Meitei-Kuki-Zo ethnic conflicts.

Under no circumstances, the Nagas want the Meitei-Kuki-Zo violence spilled into Naga areas, the NSCN (IM) asserted today, while condemning the reported killing of three Kuki villagers on August 18 at Sipijang village situated near Thowai Kuki village under Ukhrul District of Manipur.

“No ethnic blood should flow in Naga areas in the name of Meitei- Kuki-Zo ethnic conflicts,” added the NSCN (IM) in a statement issued by its Ministry of Information and Publicity.

The NSCN (IM) further noted that the three Kuki villagers were “allegedly killed by the combined forces of KYKL (Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup) and MNRF (Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front).”

“This is something NSCN strongly condemn as it has taken place within the jurisdiction of Nagalim. Such conduct is an ‘unwarrantable intrusion’,” it stated.

“The MNRF doesn’t represent the interest and welfare of Nagas in Manipur as they are under the sponsorship of the Manipur valley based organisation,” it added.
