Red Alert in Assam: MHA Warns of Extremely Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms for Next Two Days
ASDMA has urged residents, especially those living in low-lying and hillside regions, to stay vigilant and relocate to safer shelters or designated relief camps for the next three days.

GUWAHATI- The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Tuesday issued a Red Alert for Assam, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and squall over the next two days. An Orange Alert has also been issued for June 20 for both Assam and Meghalaya, according to officials.
In response to the alert, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has issued a public advisory, warning that isolated districts are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on June 18, potentially aggravating waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and triggering localized landslides in vulnerable zones.
