Assam: 4 Child labour including 2 girl rescue from Brick Kiln in Dhubri
The rescued child labours were taken in custody of CWC, Dhubri and further action will be taken against the brick fields, the officials said.
DHUBRI– Four Children including two girl has been rescued from different brick kiln, where they were working as Child labours, informed an official of Dhubri District Child Protection Unit.
A joint team of Dhubri District Child Protection Unit, Members of Child Welfare Committee, Dhubri District and Labour Office, Dhubri and Child Line Support conducted a Child Labour Rescue Drive on Friday in the brick kiln of Dhubri District and rescued 4 numbers of Child Labours from Hatipota, Bilasipara, Dhubri.

This Rescue drive was organised by District Child Protection Unit, Dhubri. Among the four rescued children, two are girls, who were working as child labourer in a brick kiln and rescued by Mrs. Pronotee Roy Sarkar, Member of CWC.
The rescued child labours were taken in custody of CWC, Dhubri and further action will be taken against the brick fields, the officials said.
Meanwhile, The problem of child labour is a very common in the brick kilns of Assam. A large number of children in Assam are found working in brick kiln industries along with their parents. Here the children have to carry the load of mud and assist their parents in different activities like shaping, carrying of mud, loading and stacking bricks, etc.
