Bringing glory and honour for Assam, Adil Khan, IAS, presently Deputy Commissioner of Bongaigaon, received the prestigious ‘Champions of Change’ Award’ from the Niti Aayog, for remarkable work done during his tenure as Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi district.
Khan received the award from CEO, Niti Aayog, Amitabh Kant at a conference on Sustainable Development Goals for Aspirational Districts in New Delhi on Wednesday in presence of Prabhari Officer, Hailakandi, Sameer Kumar Khare, collectors of other districts, representatives of ADB, UNDP, JICA and senior central government officers.
Hailakandi ranked first in the country among the 115 Aspirational districts in the category of most improved districts, on the basis of key performance indicators (KPIs) till November-December last year. Hailakandi will receive a fund of Rs 10 crore, as a reward for this achievement. The district has already got a big support under CSR from CPSEs.
Khan also shared his experiences with the participants in the conference as to how Hailakandi district moved from least improved to most improved during his tenure. “I give credit to Team Hailakandi which worked together to make this happen, ” said Khan.
Khan handed over charge in January this year after a brief tenure of nine months.
NITI Aayog CEO, Kant and Adviser, Rakesh Ranjan while complimenting Khan, said the ‘achievement is reflective of hard work of you and your team’.
