Assam: BSF seizes drugs worth of Rs 1.9 Crores
GUWAHATI- Acting on a specific tips troops of 01 Bn BSF intercepted a car and seized drugs ( Yaba Tablet ) worth of 1.99 Crore, informed a BSF spokes person.
According BSF source, troops of 01 Bn BSF intercepted one red coloured Hyundai Car i-10 in the area of village Chandi Nagar Part-2. On sensing that their Car was to be stopped, the two occupants of the car locked the car and ran away towards village Chandinagar Part- 2.
The BSF troop followed the miscreants to his home, where they were suspected to hide themselves. When the party reached at the suspected house, the miscreants already managed to escape.
The suspected car was searched in the presence of Kathigorah police where 221 Pkts of Yaba tablets containing 39,800 number of Yaba tablets was recovered. Its estimated value in the market is Rs.1.99 Crores @ Rs 500 per tablet.
In an another incident, in the evening of 23 Feb’ 2021, acting on specific information, troops of 07 Bn BSF managed to seize 20 packets containing 4,000 nos Yaba Tablet amounting to Rs. 20 Lacs in the general area of village Alonguri.
The police and the BSF is looking after the suspects who is engaged in the illicit trafficking of the drugs.
