Assam CM pleads Union Railway Minister to introduce new trains to connect Assam with major growth centres

The Chief Minister also invited the Union Railway Minister to grace the Advantage Assam Summit 2025.

NEW DELHI- Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday met Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw and discussed on enhancing rail connectivity in Assam.

In course of his meeting with the Union Minister at Parliament House, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma discussed comprehensively on enhancing railway network in the state and requested him to press into service new trains to connect Assam with major growth centres of the country.

The Chief Minister also invited the Union Railway Minister to grace the Advantage Assam Summit 2025.

Later, taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister wrote, “It is always an enriching experience to meet Hon’ble Union Minister Shri @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji.

During our meeting in New Delhi today, I extended an invitation to him to attend the #AdvantageAssam Summit in 2025.

We also had a comprehensive discussion to enhance rail connectivity in Assam. I have made a specific request to Hon’ble Minister to add more trains on networks connecting Assam to major growth centres of the country.”
