Assam: Hailakandi administration distributes sanitary pads to lady jail inmates

As a step towards healthier practices, the Hailakandi district administration distributed sanitary napkins to the lady inmates of the District Jail.

The sanitary pads were distributed to the women inmates so that they adopt healthier practices on menstrual hygiene and personal cleanliness for healthy living.

“The goal behind the distribution of sanitary napkins is to switch to healthier practices on menstrual hygiene and personal cleanliness for better health of the women, thus contributing to better health of the family as a whole,” said Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli.

The six women inmates lodged at the jail expressed their gratitude to the district administration for its kind gesture.

District Media Expert, Monika Das and District Coordinator, RBSK, Abani Kalita distributed the sanitary napkins on behalf of the district administration.
