Assam: Huge cache of Arms, Ammunitions recovered from Kokrajhar

Guwahati 

Troops of Indian Army along with Assam Police busted a large cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores in Chirang Reserve Forest in Kokrajhar District of Assam on 17 Mar 20. The cache included 14 Rifles, 01 grenade launcher, 07 pistols as well as a large quantity of ammunition, grenades and explosives. The entire cache was handed over to Assam Police for further investigation

Huge cache of arms and ammunition recovered from Leopani Nala and Ultapani Nala along the Indo-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar district on 17th March 20. The recoveries included rifles, pistol, magazines and grenades, said Assam police.

The joint operation was launched by Kokrajhar Police  accompanied by SI Swmdwn Hazowary, OC, Serfanguri PS, ASI Rajani Kt. Rabha, I/C Bishmuri PP, APRG team with Commando Bn. Staff ( Camp: Serfanguri PS ) and Major Vikas Sheoran with 12 Sikh LI Army led by  Mukut Rabha,  Addl. SP (HQ) Kokrajhar in the general area of Leopani Nala and Ultapani Nala along with Indo-Bhutan border.

The Joint Operation team Started search in the above noted area and at about 6.30PM the search team succeeded to recover a huge cache of arms and ammunitions kept concealed under the ground near a tree at Fire Line 07, Ultapani Reserve Forest under Bishmuri PP.

Following arms and ammunitions are recovered by the Joint Operation team:
