Assam police officers transferred and appointed incharge of SIT for Manipur violence
Both Mishra and Barua are being transferred to Manipur on an immediate basis as per the directives of Supreme Court.
GUWAHATI- Assam police officers Anand Mishra IPS, and Randeep Kr. Baruah APS, has been transferred and appointed as the incharge of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is to look into the cases of violence in strife torn Manipur.
Anand Mishra who is currently the Superintendent of Police for Assam’s Lakhimpur, will now be the heading the SIT to probe cases of Manipur violence.

Assam Police Service personnel Randeep Kumar Barua, who is currently Superintendent of Police (Border-II), Assam are placed at the disposal of Government of Manipur to take charge of the SITS constituted for Manipur incidents with immediate effect.
Both Mishra and Barua are being transferred to Manipur on an immediate basis as per the directives of Supreme Court.

In compliance with directions of Supreme Court of India in its judgment dated 07.08.2023 in SLP (Civil) Dy. No. 19206 of 2023 and in the interest of public service the services of Anand Mishra, IPS (RR-2011), Superintendent of Police, Lakhimpur, Assam are placed at the disposal of Government of Manipur to take charge of the SITS constituted for Manipur incidents with immediate effect.
In compliance with directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in its judgment dated 07.08.2023 in SLP (Civil) Dy. No. 19206 of 2023 and in the interest of public service the services of Randeep Kr. Baruah, APS (DR-1993), Superintendent of Police (Border-II), Assam are placed at the disposal of Government of Manipur to take charge of the SITS constituted for Manipur incidents with immediate effect.
