Assam Road Accident: Four Killed, Seven Injured as SUV Collides With Bus in Goalpara

GOALPARA- Four people were killed and seven others injured in a collision between an SUV and a bus in Assam’s Goalpara district on Monday, police said. The accident happened on National Highway 17 in Gulianpara area of the district, they said.

The bus was going from Guwahati to Goalpara, while the SUV Car  was coming from the opposite direction. Police reached the spot on information about the incident. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.

According to media reports, all the dead people were traveling in the car. The driver of the car also died in the accident. Two passengers injured in the accident were sent to Rongjuli Primary Health Center, where they died.

Police said that two other passengers died while being taken to Guwahati due to their critical condition. Two passengers have been sent to Guwahati for treatment in critical condition.

Local people said that the accident happened due to high speed. Both the vehicles were at very high speed. Local people told that the risk is high on NH-17 and there is a lot of traffic, but still the vehicles move fast.

A scooter driver also got hit in the collision between  car and a bus, due to which he got seriously injured. Has come. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital.
