Foreign Policy Concerns: Gogoi criticized the government’s silence on U.S. President Donald Trump’s claims about mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He urged the Prime Minister to clarify India’s foreign policy stance, particularly in response to these claims, which he suggested could undermine India’s dignity and the bravery of its armed forces.

He stressed the importance of discussing defence and foreign policy in Parliament to address these strategic challenges.

He underscored the importance of protecting every citizen’s right to vote and addressing uncertainties around the electoral structure.
Unrest in Manipur: Gogoi criticized the government’s handling of the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur, noting that despite the Prime Minister’s assurances of peace, the state continues to face turmoil after two and a half years. He questioned why the Prime Minister has not visited Manipur, despite traveling to other countries.
These issues were raised as part of the Congress party’s demand for accountability and transparency from the government during the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, starting July 21, 2025.
