Maitri Cycle Rally Reaches Mizoram

AIZAWL The “Maitri Cycle Rally” after covering the significant 817 Kms area at Tripura, entered Mizoram State on 27 Feb 2021 and will cover the area of 440 Kms from Border Out Post New Amchurimukh, 90 Battalion BSF and will continue in the State till it culminates on 17th March 2021.
The rally was given grand welcome at Inter-state border of Mizoram and Tripura with vibrant cultural programme performed by the BSF troops and the Students of Rajivnagar Secondary School.
The Cycle Rally was greeted by Rajeev Dua, DIG, SHQ BSF Panisagar, Dr C P Meena, Commandant SHQ BSF Aizawl, R P Udit Commandant, 145 Bn BSF, Nilesh Khandekar , Dy Commandant 90 Bn BSF, Jagdish Rathore , Assistant Commandant, Sunil Kadam, Assistant Commandant, other BSF personnel and VCP members of Village Rajivnagar 1 & 2 and Khantlang.
To grace the occasion Commanding Officer of 54 BGB and his staffs were also present to greet the “Maitri Rally Cycle”. In his speech he highlighted the role of India during the Liberation of War of Bangladesh in 1971 and praised the Bordermen for giving its blood for their independence.
He also assured to combat all form of crimes in the border, jointly with the BSF. He felt honoured to grace the occasion and thanked the BSF for the invitation. Later he also interacted with the Cycle Rally and exchanged the memento with them.
The BSF Mizoram & Cachar Frontier is also organizing various programs in bordering areas en-route to felicitate the Maitree Rally Cyclists. The Maitree Cycle Rally will be proceeding further to different locations of Mizoram along Indo-BD border.
The initiative taken by the BSF will help in cementing the better synergies with the BGB for further strengthening the better ties between two friendly countries India and Bangladesh.
The “ Maitri Cycle Rally “ will culminate on 17th March 2021, at Border Out Post Silkore, 60 Battalion BSF Mizoram to coincide with birth anniversary of Bangabandhu, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
