Manipur: 1 killed, 1 injured in blast inside DM University campus in Imphal
In separate incidents of arson, Macha Leimai School in Imphal East district was torched and the offices of the United Committee Manipur, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol, and Mapi Council were targeted.
IMPHAL- One person was killed and another sustained injury after unidentified individuals lobbed a hand-grenade at DM University campus in Imphal West district of Manipur on Friday night.
Two people who sustained injuries were brought to Raj Medicity Hospital. One of them succumbed to his injury. The deceased person has been identified as one 24-year-old Oinam Kenegy from Upoki.

The blast occurred near the All Manipur Students’ Union ( AMSU ) office located within DM University’s campus. Till now no group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Following the blast, people come out in large numbers in Thangmeiband where DM University is located.
A series of violence continued in the night as miscreants burned down three different offices located in and around Imphal City.
In separate incidents of arson, Macha Leimai School in Imphal East district was torched and the offices of major civil bodies, including the United Committee Manipur (UCM), Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) and Mapi Council, were targeted.
While the motive behind the attacks is yet to be ascertained, the police have registered cases in connection with the incidents.
Miscreants also reportedly burned two vehicles. At press time, the situation remained vulnerable in Imphal city following the latest violence.
