Manipur: WY Tablets, Brown Sugar Recovered During Highway Check
Security forces recovered over 2 kg of WY tablets and brown sugar from an SUV intercepted at a check post under Tengnoupal Police Station.
TENGNOUPAL- Security forces in Manipur intercepted a sport utility vehicle (SUV) at a check post under Tengnoupal Police Station and recovered a substantial quantity of narcotics and other items during search operations on Wednesday.
According to an update shared by Manipur Police on social media platforms, the vehicle was stopped at the Tengnoupal police station Naka check post during routine checking.
Officials said the intercepted vehicle was a four-wheeler Thar bearing registration number MN 01 AW 8063. During the search of the vehicle, security personnel recovered and seized 2.33 kilograms of WY tablets and 0.592 kilograms of brown sugar.

In addition to the narcotics, one mobile phone, an Aadhaar card and the registration certificate of the vehicle were also recovered from inside the SUV.
Police stated that the recovery was made during intensified checking operations in the region aimed at curbing illegal activities and drug trafficking. Authorities have initiated further investigation into the case to determine the origin and intended destination of the seized contraband.
In a statement posted on X, Manipur Police said, “On 04.03.2026, a four-wheeler Thar bearing Regd. No. MN 01 AW 8063 was intercepted by security forces at the Naka check post of Tengnoupal-PS. During checking of the vehicle, the following items were recovered and seized from inside.”

Meanwhile, security forces in the state have continued operations against insurgent and criminal activities. Last month, an active cadre of the Revolutionary People’s Front/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA) was arrested in Imphal East district for alleged involvement in extortion activities.
In another operation, an alleged extortionist linked to the KCP (PWG) group was apprehended from Singjamei in Imphal West district. Authorities also seized a two-wheeler and a mobile phone during the arrest.
Officials said such operations form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement and counter illegal networks in the state.
