Zoram People’s Movement ( ZPM ) has won 27 seats in Mizoram Assembly elections. Whereas MNF had to be satisfied with only 10 seats. Another record was made in this election. For the first time, 3 women have won the Manipur elections.
Youngest female MLA-
Beryl Vannaisangi has become the youngest woman MLA of Mizoram. Beryl is 32 years old. Beryl has won from Aizawl South-3. Beryl Joram was the candidate of the People’s Movement. Beryl got a total of 9370 votes. While MNF candidate F. Lalrammavia got 7956 votes. In this way Beryl won by 1414 votes.
Who is Beryl Vannehisangi
Beryl Vanneihsangi has done post graduation from North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong. His father’s name is Wanrochuang. She has been a famous TV anchor. According to the affidavit in the Election Commission. Before this, she had won the election of councilor in Aizawl Municipal Corporation. Beryl Vannehisangi is very active on social media. He has 250k followers on Instagram.
Two More women have also won the elections
Apart from Baryl Vanneihsangi, two more women candidates have won the Mizoram Assembly elections. ZMP candidate Lalrinpui and MNF’s Pravo Chakma have also won. Lalrinpui defeated Congress candidate Joseph Lalhinpuya from Lunglei East. Lalrinpui won by 1646 votes.
Mizo National Front’s Pravo Chakma won West Tuipui by 711 votes. He defeated Nihar Kanti Chakma of Congress. Pravo Chakma got 7167 votes, while Nihar Kanti got 6456 votes. This is the first time in Mizoram Assembly elections, when 3 women have won the elections. Earlier, no woman MLA had become MLA in the 2013 and 2018 assembly elections.
