Bidhan Nagar police arrested 3 persons from Sikkim in connection with smuggling of fake gold this afternoon. All three arrested are from Gangtok. The gross weight is 97 kgs of fake gold.
Arrested persons are Chungchung Lepcha (Female), Rahul Agarwal (Male) and Tshering Palden Bhutia (Female).
As per police sources, the trio could be part of a big racket which deals with fake gold and other illegal consignments. Police are enquiring the matter from all the possible angles. However, the buyer managed to flee from the spot and hunt is on for him.
