Sikkim Taekwondo Team win Best performance Award in 14th National Open Taekwondo Championship held at Ranchi

This prestigious event, organized by the Jharkhand Taekwondo Association and supported by the All Indian Taekwondo Federation. More than a thousand participants hailing from every corner of the country participated in the competition.
In this Competition the host Jharkhand team won the overall champion ship. Jharkhand team was moving ahead since second day, after wining 39 gold medals. The Andhra Pradesh team wins second position and the Odisha team stood third.
The grand finale is was held on Sunday, marked by the highly anticipated final matches that was determined the ultimate champions.
Following the thrilling contests, a spectacular award ceremony was held in honor the deserving victors and their remarkable achievements.
The award was given By Manohar Singh, District president of East Singhbhum Taekwondo Association , who also contributed Cash prize of Rs 5000/- each to best performance Taekwondo team of Sikkim and Best Disciplined team of Odisha. These two cash prizes are being awarded in found memory of Dr Ramdayal Munda, and Dr AK Dhan. Both were Ex Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University. Manohar Singh is also Ex-member of Senate, Ranchi University.
Beyond the glitz and glory, this event serves a higher purpose. The organizers have made it clear that the National Open Taekwondo Championship is not merely about competition; it’s about fostering and promoting taekwondo as both a sport and a martial art. It’s a celebration of dedication, discipline, and the indomitable human spirit.

One of the primary objectives of this championship is to provide a robust platform for budding talents to showcase their skills and untapped potential. Meanwhile, it must be mentioned here that, “ the 28 participants from Sikkim who competed in the Dreams cup, Open National Taekwondo Championship 2023, held in Mathura on August 26th and 27th. Showcasing exceptional skills and determination, they secured 37 Gold, 12 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals in under 8, under 12, under 14, and under 17 categories.
