Assam: Indian Army carried out Trans Assam Cycling Expedition

Red Horns Division of Indian Army carried out the flagging in of the 650 kms Trans Assam Cycling Expedition Tour at Rangiya, a small town of Assam. The tour was from 06 Jan to 15 Jan 2018 for 20 youth from far flung areas of Nalbari and Baksa districts of lower Assam.

The aim of the tour was to create awareness amongst the students about the unity, diversity and secular fabric of our great nation, and also expose them to the socio-economic changes and technological advancements in the region.

Tour has been instrumental towards building a cordial relation between Army and civil relation in the area. The tour was flagged off on 06 January 2018 from Rangiya.

During the 10 days of the expedition, the team visited the places of interest in Guwahati, Nagaon, Kaziranga, Numaligarh, Sivasagar, Duliajan and Sadiya.

The youth not only got an opportunity to get an insight into the rich ethnic culture but also imbibed a team spirit and cohesiveness among each other.

This initiative of the Indian Army was towards meeting the aspirations of the youth and making them the pillar of the Nation and spread awareness on saving our environmental and planet.
