Mizoram: BJP CADC district committee reconstituted

Dr. BD Chakma elected as district president unopposed

KAMALANAGAR: Mizoram’s lone BJP Legislator Dr. Buddha Dhan Chakma on Saturday was elected as District President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC).

National Council Member of BJP Mizoram Pradesh and Ex-Minister  Nirupam Chakma was appointed as election In-Charge during the reconstitution of BJP CADC District Committee.

He was accompanied by Lai Autonomous District Council Former CEM and Executive Member of BJP Mizoram Pradesh Pu F. Rohnuna.

Earlier,   NP Chakma held a series of meetings with the office bearers of various Morchas of BJP CADC after arriving at Kamalanagar from Aizawl on Friday and as part of the consultation process for the reconstitution of District Committee.

Former MLA and former District President Alak Bikash Chakma opted to discontinue from the post of President due to his health issues but he assured to guide the District Committee whenever deemed necessary.

He also requested to the party’s Karyakartas to work hard so that party can form BJP government in the next MDC General Elections in Chakma Autonomous District Council. He was elevated as Core Committee Member in BJP Mizoram Pradesh.

On Saturday, an induction programme of new members was organised at the District party office at Kamalanagar-lll, CADC where as many as 33 families from Mizo National Front (MNF) have joined the BharatiyaJanta Party in the presence of BJP MLA Dr. BD Chakma and National Council Member Nirupam Chakma.
