Mizoram: 7 including 2 women held with heroin worth Rs 6 crore

AIZAWL- The Assam Rifles and agencies of the state government have seized one kilogram of heroin worth about Rs 6 crore in two separate operations and arrested seven persons in this connection. Officials gave this information on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Assam Rifles and the State Excise and Narcotics Department on Wednesday conducted an operation in Serkon area of Lunglei district during which heroin, which was hidden in a vehicle, was seized, officials said.

Five people, including two women, were arrested in this connection, he said.

In another operation on the same day, a joint team of Assam Rifles and state police seized 145 grams of heroin at Kawbel in Saitual district, officials said.

He said that two persons have been arrested in this connection.
